The story begins in Gansu Province, the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, is the closest snow-covered plateau to the mainland. To the west resides the best grasslands in Asia, and the source of the Yellow River in the Bayan Har Mountains. After cumulating in the flowing water, it makes it's first big bend and flows to the heart of the Chinese civilization. The crew travel to Gannan, a prefecture covering 7 counties and a city. Their journey takes them 2000 meters above sea level, to experience the lives of the locals.
