South Korea is hosting an international expo. The theme is "the Living Ocean and Coast." It’s taken four years of preparation and 10 billion US dollars in investment. The venue is the coastal city of Yeosu, which has hundreds of nearby islands. Some 100 nations and 10 international organizations will stage exhibitions over the next three months. The idea is to foster innovative industries and technologies that use marine resources and energy in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly way.
Saturday marks the first day of the South Korea World Expo 2012 in coastal city of Yeosu. This comes hot on the heels of Friday’s grand opening ceremony. More than 100 countries are showing off their very best in technology, culture and consumer products.
